As many of you know I have followed Danielle’s career for years, and have posted a few articles about her earlier work with the band Go Long (!) which has since been disbanded.  I started following Dani several years before when she played with another local group called Far From The Trees, and I fell in love with her soothing voice and eclectic style.

In the years since I have seen her music career soar,  she is one of the most talented local singers I have ever met, and even though I moved to Montreal, I have kept in touch with her and followed her career from afar.

Her new Solo Album is due to hit the streets in May and I am happy to announce I was among the first to pick up tickets to her CD Release Part being held at The Bourbon Room on May 9th.  Tickets can be purchased online here.

Ottawa Songstress to Release Solo Album “Chameleon”

OTTAWA – ON Local singer-songwriter Danielle Allard is releasing her first solo album after much-anticipation. A graduate of Canterbury High School for vocal performance, this album has been a long time coming and several months in the making.

As a strong advocate for the support local movement, Danielle has used local services for everything from recording to printing and merchandising. “Supporting local arts and business has always been important to me. I am inspired by the passion in our city.” Danielle says. She will be playing a guitar and ukulele built by local luthier Patrick Hawley and all of her recording was done at Gallery Studios with producer and multi-instrumentalist Dean Watson.

The musical community has rallied around Danielle. On top of partnering with local musicians, Bytown Market’s Lowertown Brewery had Danielle in residency from June of last year into the fall. She will take up a new residency this summer at Ottawa’s newest performance venue, Live on Elgin. Demand for the sirens original work sky rocketed since and with support from both her long-time fans and newcomers to her sound her indigo campaign overshot its goal by several hundred dollars.

Chameleon is set to drop Saturday May 9th, 2015 at 7pm inside The Bourbon Room. The album promises to ensnare the listener with folksy acoustic numbers like Crown accompanied by special guests like Ed Lister, Jamie Holmes, Sebastian Romanutti, Ashley Newall and Justin Duhaime. Tickets can be purchased with the option of including a copy of the album here, with a limited supply available at the door.
